What is Family Planning?

  • Family planning is the ability of all couples and individuals to decide responsibly the number of children they want to have, when to have them, and to space their children healthily, with access to the necessary information, education, and means.

  • Family planning does not mean limiting the number of children; one of its goals is also to help childless families to have children.
