About the Clinic

Thoracic surgery is the medical specialty that deals with the surgical treatment of diseases and injuries of the organs and structures located in the chest cavity—excluding the heart and major blood vessels. It involves the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of conditions affecting the chest wall, ribs, lungs, pleura (lung membranes), mediastinum, diaphragm, and esophagus. Thoracic surgery clinics manage congenital deformities of the chest wall, tumor formations, airway obstructions or narrowing, as well as congenital or acquired diseases of the lungs, diaphragm, and esophagus that require surgical intervention.
